CHICAGO—The 12th Annual Silk Road Conference is returning to Chicago for its 2016 edition that focuses on new bilateral business, trade, and investment opportunities. The event , that attracts representatives from both U.S. and foreign governments, business, and academia, will be the highlight of the six-day “Silk
Road Week in Illinois” series of events. Organized by the Central Asian Productivity Research Center, it is supported by Global Programs, College of Business, Northern Illinois University, and several foreign entities.

SMALL EXPORTERS: RETURN TO BASICS
”Small Exporters: Back To Basics”, a seminar focusing on the development of entrepreneurs and small businesses interested in exports, will be held from 9:30 AM until noon on Monday, April 18, in the auditorium of the Illinois Science and Technology Park, 4901 Searle Parkway, Skokie, Illinois.
Tim Lavenwood , executive director of the ISTP, will discuss “How to Establish a Successful Business Incubator”, followed by a tour of the facility; Professor
Jamaluddin Husain, director, Small Business Institute, Purdue University Calumet,
Hammond, Indiana, will discuss” How to Establish an Entrepreneurship Program; and Professor John Kalaras, chief executive officer, Quality Institute, Skokie, will discuss, “How To Develop a Quality Management Program”.
Assisting with the programs will be Stan Shlyapochnik, entrepreneur, and Professors Mehmet Karan and Mustafa Kaya, of the Finance department, Department of Business Administration, Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey.
